Happy Labor Day

"... count your blessings, for you live in the greatest country in the world..."
-Stacey Carlin

Hurricane season is upon us.

Hurricane Harvey continues to have a big effect on people and businesses near the South Texas coast. This impact includes the freight transportation industry which is currently experiencing major disruptions to include the following:
  • Halted traffic due to flooded roadways and damaged infrastructure
  • Suspended rail service
  • Closures of regional shipping terminals and ports
  • Chaotic supply chains due to extra shipments and lower productivity
Nearly 10 percent of US trucking for the first month.

Now that Harvey has passed and left us with cleanup; Hurricane Irma is coming in rapidly. Florida Governor Rick Scott declared a state of emergency in all 67 counties within Florida in order to ensure that all local governments have ample time to prepare. "Hurricane Irma is a major and life-threatening storm and Florida must be prepared," Scott said.
We ask that no matter the location always be prepared for all weather conditions.
