Mission Statement: The City Manager's Office ensures the City runs effectively and efficiently to achieve what Corvallis community members, through the City Council, want to accomplish with the resources available. The City Manager's Office provides leadership, coordination and management for the City organization and support for the City Council. The City Manager's Office also works to provide timely information to our community and encourage connection between community members and the City organization.
The Governance Division supports the Mayor and Council; implements City Council decisions and goals; facilitates implementation of the Corvallis 2020 Vision Statement; provides organization-wide administration, management, and evaluation; pursues intergovernmental relations and partnerships; promotes and sustains excellent community relationships and communications; facilitates public outreach and communications; oversees the budget and capital improvement program; oversees City Attorney contract services; manages the City's official records, conducts municipal elections, and monitors legislative activities.
The Economic Development office, under the purview of the City Manager's Office, preserves and enhances livability by providing active City participation in actions to address economic stability, moderate economic growth, and economic, social, and environmental sustainability. The Economic Development office develops and implements programs to achieve the City’s Economic Development goals of supporting innovation and business start-ups, retention and growth of current Benton County companies, and leveraging local economic development assets. The office manages the Benton County-Corvallis Enterprise Zones, markets the Airport Industrial Park, and provides staff support to the Economic Development Advisory Board.
