9-1-1 Telecommunicator Salary & Benefits
The starting salary for an entry level 9-1-1 Telecommunicator is:
$29.18 hourly / $5,058 monthly / $60,703 annually
There are six steps in the 9-1-1 Telecommunicator classification. The salary at the top step of this classification is:
$37.25 hourly / $6,456 monthly / $77,474 annually
Lateral 9-1-1 Telecommunicator:
The Chief of Police has the discretion to start Lateral 9-1-1 Telecommunicators at a higher pay step consistent with years of experience.
Salary Incentives
The Corvallis Regional Communications Center offers several different incentives to 9-1-1 Telecommunicators:
- Intermediate Certification: 4.5% addition to base salary
- Advanced Certification: 8% addition to base salary
Bilingual: A 5% addition to base salary can be earned by those 9-1-1 Telecommunicators who demonstrate proficiency in a second language.

Minimum Requirements for 9-1-1 Telecommunicators

- At least 18 years of age at time of hire
- Possess a High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to pass a background investigation
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
- Ability to meet physical, medical and psychological requirements for the position
