About the Neighborhood

The Porter Park Neighborhood Association was formalized in 2009. The neighbors meet a minimum of 1x per year. The association's primary means of communication is email and door-to-door. Current interests include: Porter Park, transportation planning for pedestrian and bicycle use in the area.

Boundaries: Boundaries are established by formal bylaws. The neighborhood association includes Parkside I & Parkside II subdivisions, together with all properties which share common lot lines with Porter Park and can be defined as those properties inside a line starting at the northeast corner of tax lot 11527DA05900; thence proceeding south along the eastern boundary of said lot and continuing south long the eastern boundary of Parkside I to the southeast corner of said subdivision; thence west along its southern boundary, corssing 17th St an continuing west along the southern boundaries of the Parkside II subdivvision and the Lifespring Foursquare Gospel Chursch; thence north along the western boundary of said church to the norther side of Hayes St; thence west, north, and east to include all the property of the Evangelical Church, to the southwest corner of tax lot 1127DA0500; thence north to Garfield Street; thence east to the point of beginning.
