Advisory Groups

Recruitment for 2026 advisory group members is now underway!

Apply by May 25, 2026: forms.corvallisoregon.gov/Forms/advisory-group-app

The City of Corvallis seeks input and advice from the public through a network of policy advisory boards and task forces, operational committees and work groups, and commissions. Participants are typically community members interested in making an impact on a particular policy topic or area of service. Time commitments vary, from policy boards that meet monthly on long-term policy topics, to short-term task forces that work regularly for a few months on a specific issue and then conclude their work.

These advisory groups are just one aspect of the City's commitment to the full spectrum of public participation, as outlined in the IAP2 Spectrum of Public Participation.

In general, volunteers must reside in Corvallis or be employed or self-employed full time in Corvallis. *Please be aware that the Council has appointed the Corvallis Forest Operational Advisory Committee (CFOAC) to serve as a Task Force for the Corvallis Forest Stewardship Plan Update project.  Task Force members typically serve for the entire length of the Task Force’s work assignment.  Consistent with this approach, staff intends to reappoint existing CFOAC members that wish to continue serving during the next term.  Staff is seeking CFOAC applications at this time in case an existing member does not seek reappointment and for future use in the event of an unplanned vacancy during the next term.

Policy advisory board, policy task force, and Budget Commission appointments are made by the Mayor. Operational advisory committee and work group appointments are made by staff. Planning Commissioners and Historic Resource Commissioners are appointed through a vote of the City Council.
