Traffic Services

The Traffic Safety Management Plan is a commitment to a community policing strategy of enforcing traffic laws to promote safety and compliance with regulations, and to working in partnership with the community and other public and private entities to resolve traffic problems through education, engineering and participation. The outcome is a safer community for all modes of transportation.

Parking Services

The City of Corvallis manages over 1,800 combined public on-street and off-street parking spaces in downtown and oversees three Residential Parking Districts in the areas surrounding the Oregon State University campus. The City of Corvallis manages these public parking resources with the aim of creating an equitable, sustainable, and positive parking experience in the community for residents and visitors alike.

Organizational Sustainability Work

Sustainability has been important to Corvallis local government for many years. Officially, sustainability became part of organizational operations in 2004 when the Corvallis City Council adopted an organizational sustainability policy. Prior to that, significant emphasis was on cost-saving aspects of projects, such as how to reduce energy consumption to save money, but it wasn’t referred to as ‘sustainability’.

Flood Response and Safety Tips

Flood warnings and watches are issued by the National Weather Service and can alert communities to the threat of hazardous weather conditions. Forecasts, advisories, watches and warnings from the National Weather Service may be broadcast on local radio and television stations, the National Weather Service web site, or NOAA Weather Radio, which broadcasts forecasts and warnings 24 hours a day. Other local radio and television stations carry Emergency Alert System (EAS) broadcasts as well during an event.
