Volunteer Firefighter Information

Volunteer firefighters are an integral part of the Corvallis Fire Department. The Department maintains a roster of volunteers who augment the ranks of the career personnel and assist with fire suppression, rescue services, emergency medical care, and fire prevention.

The Fire Department has three volunteer programs designed to allow individuals to match their skills and time with the needs of the City and the Rural Fire Protection District:

Burning Regulations

**In the Corvallis Area Fire District residential burning of yard debris is not allowed and no permits will be issued.**

 

BURNING ADVISORY - 541-766-6971 (generally updated after 8:15 a.m.)

The types of burning that generally apply to residents of Corvallis are open (or backyard) and recreational burning (described below). Different sets of regulations apply to each classification.  It is recommended that property owners speak with their neighbors prior to burning.
