Outdoor Dining Programs

The Sidewalk Café program and Business Use of Right-of-Way program (BROW) allow businesses located within downtown Corvallis to use a portion of public sidewalks and parking spaces for outdoor dining. Each program requires the submission of the appropriate permit application to verify all eligibility requirements have been met. Additionally, the BROW program is available for only a portion of the year, May 1 – October 31, while the Sidewalk Café Program is available year-round.

Inspections and Scheduling

What is the Purpose of an Inspection & When is it Required?

Permit Fees

Development Services (DS) operates as a one-stop permit center. Permit fees for new construction projects typically fall into three main categories.
  1. Building permit fees and building plan review fees
Examples: Building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, life-safety, excavation
Source: These fees pay for services including inspection, plan review, and building department administration provided by DS. Development Services is supported almost entirely by fees for building plan reviews and building permits.

Floodplain Development

When developing or building within a natural hazard area, it is important to take precautions and build in compliance with local codes, building codes, and FEMA regulations in order to protect your investment and your life. Responsible construction saves lives.

A Floodplain Development Permit (FLD) is required for any work conducted within the 100-yr Floodplain boundary.
