The application window for 2025 Green Grants is closed. Grant funding was approved on May 5, 2025. Thank you to everyone who applied!
About the Green Grants Program
Green Grants are a Corvallis-focused, community grant program. Applications are reviewed by the Climate Action Advisory Board (CAAB) and awarded by the Corvallis City Council. Green Grants were first awarded in 2023. This is the third year of the program.
$5,000 in grant funds will be awarded in 2025 to projects and initiatives that move the dial on climate change and promote the actions of the Corvallis Climate Action Plan (CAP). A list of those actions can be found here and in the link at the bottom of the page. Green Grants are intended for community-centered projects. The leaders of these projects can be local organizations, but they can also just be a group of people with a cool idea.
In 2025, the Climate Action Advisory Board (CAAB) encouraged applications that focus on Building and Energy CAP items. You can learn more about CAAB here.

Funds must be spent during the grant term (between the Funding Agreement/contract being signed and December 31, 2025)

Eligibility
- Eligible applicants can be any entity: individuals, neighborhood associations, non-profits, community organizations, or businesses. However, projects that benefit one individual or household will not be considered.
- Only projects located within the Corvallis city limits are eligible for funding.
- Projects proposed to occur within the City’s right-of-way or on City owned property (ex. in a park or on a street) must be approved by the appropriate City department. If you’re unsure where to start, email communitygrants@corvallisoregon.gov.
- Application must be complete.
Application Evaluation Criteria
Projects will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- That the proposed project addresses strategies detailed in the Corvallis Climate Action Plan.
- The impact on the community. Projects with larger impacts on climate change or on a larger number of households or individuals will be more favorably reviewed. Note: Projects that benefit one individual or household will not be considered.
- The feasibility of the project and on time completion. All projects must be completed by December 31, the same year that funds were awarded.
- See the Overview Packet for a copy of 2025 scoring criteria.
Funding Requirements
Grant recipients must sign a Funding Agreement to receive any awarded funds. This will be sent by City Staff.
For grant awards of $600.00 and above, a W-9 is required for tax reporting. If it’s needed, staff will request the W-9 with the Funding Agreement. If you don’t think you can provide a W-9, consider asking for a grant amount below $600.00 or partnering with a local organization which can receive the funds on your group’s behalf.
- A W-9 will include a tax ID number (ex. EIN or SSN) for tax reporting of the award.
- Funds will be sent to the name and address on the W-9.
Application Process
When the next cycle of applications are being accepted, details will be posted on this page.
