Volunteers Needed for Planning Commission, Historic Resources Commission

February 2, 2021 - The City of Corvallis is recruiting volunteers to fill a total of 5 vacancies on the Planning Commission and the Historic Resources Commission. Both of these organizations play an important role in the City's land use policies by reviewing proposals, conducting public hearings, and making recommendations to the City Council. Commissioners will receive training on various land use topics throughout the year, so expert proficiency in these topics is not a prerequisite.

The Planning Commission is currently seeking to fill three vacancies, and the Historic Resources Commission is seeking to fill two vacancies. In both roles, commissioners are unpaid volunteers who typically attend one or more meetings per month, with additional meetings scheduled as needed.

The deadline to apply to serve on either of the two commissions is 5 p.m. Friday, April 2. Application packets detailing members' responsibilities and expectations, as well as the application process, are available at the links below:

New commissioners are selected following interviews with the City Council. Those interviews are tentatively planned for May 6, 2021.
