Significance

Second courthouse on this site; Built in 1888. Architect: Delos D. Neer. Style: Italianate with a military influence. Oldest active courthouse in the state of Oregon. Mr. Neer also designed courthouses in Washington, Clackamas, and Lane Counties. Courthouse is constructed of plastered brick. Goddess of justice not blindfolded. "Flight of time" on four sides of the clock tower. Cost of courthouse was about $70,000.
