Skye Consort & Emma Björling perform trans-Atlantic music from Scandinavia, Ireland and the British Isles, French-Canada, and tunes of their own devising. They find enchanting stories and melodies, then bring them into the 21st century with worldly chamber-folk settings.

Voices, fiddle, nyckelharpa, cello, bouzouki, banjo, and percussion riffing on whirling polskas, groovy reels, passionate love songs, breathtaking hymns, and original compositions.

Corvallis City Manager Selected for Statewide Appointment on League of Oregon Cities Board of Directors

October 22, 2024 - Corvallis City Manager Mark Shepard has been selected to serve a three-year term on the League of Oregon Cities Board of Directors. Shepard will be one of just three city managers serving on the board, which is primarily made up of local elected officials from cities in Oregon.

Armed Subject on NW 23rd St

 

On October 18, 2024, at approximately 1:38 PM, Corvallis Police Officers responded to a report of an individual armed with a pistol in the vicinity of 775 NW 23rd St. Upon securing the area, officers were able to establish contact with the suspect, 79-year-old John Robert Berman of Corvallis, via phone. Mr. Berman exited a nearby apartment without incident and peacefully surrendered to law enforcement.
