City Seeking Applications for Housing Grant Funding

The City currently has two funding opportunities open: CDBG Capital Project with an estimated funding amount of $600,000 and CDBG Human Services Fund with an estimated total funding of $80,000.

Community Values Questionnaire

The City Council undertook a public process to prioritize the 11 facilities projects identified in the 2022 Citywide Facilities Strategy. Because of staff and funding resource constraints at the time, it was not possible to move forward on all 11 projects at once. The Council weighed a variety of factors, including input from the community on this topic, to assist with their deliberations.

Corvallis Police Response at Assisted Living Facility

On Thursday, March 30, 2023, Officers with the Corvallis Police Department responded to an assisted living facility in the 5500 block of SW West Hills Road on an unrelated call for service. While inside the facility, the officers noticed a water leak developing in the roof on the second floor, which was steadily increasing flow with water pouring out of the light fixtures. Shortly afterward, a large part of ceiling on the second floor collapsed and water began to gush out of the attic space into the facility.

Beaverton man arrested for Luring a Minor

On Saturday March 25, 2023, Corvallis Police Officers arrested 43-year-old Charles Corriea of Beaverton for Online Sexual Corruption of a Child and Luring a Minor. Officers learned the suspect had been communicating online with who he believed to be a 16-year-old female. The suspect traveled to Corvallis and arranged to meet near a local hotel with a goal of engaging in a sexual encounter with the minor.
