Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Project

Making the park worthy of Dr. King's legacy.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Park’s connection to the natural world reminds us that we are all born equal and free from negative social constructs. Like its namesake, this groundbreaking park design recognizes, celebrates, and supports the power of individual and collective activism in creating social change.
About the Project:
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Park is a 29-acre public park with a unique collection of habitats, walking trails, and active recreation spaces. For many years, community members have expressed a desire for the park to better represent its namesake through inspirational art, design, and improved amenities. In 2020, Corvallis Parks and Recreation hired landscape architecture firm Juncus Studio to turn concepts into reality through a detailed planning, design, and outreach process.
