Week of September 21st, 2026

Highland Dr. Construction

• Final clean-up and inspections in process.

Grant Ave. Construction

• Repaving work scheduled for the week of 9/21. The grinding is scheduled for Monday 9/21 and paving on Saturday 9/25.
• During the grind and paving operations, vehicle traffic will remain open for local residents, mail, and garbage service to the greatest extent possible. If driveway access is affected, the Contractor will notify residents in advance. 
• Sidewalk installation is scheduled to be completed on Tuesday 9/22. Sidewalk closures and pedestrian detours will be in place.
• Pavement marking work scheduled for Mon. 10/5.

Walnut Blvd. Construction

• Installation of the new center median/pedestrian refuge island at Jack London St. in process.
• Sidewalk and curb ramp removal and reinstallation in process at Jack London St. and Conser St.
• Sidewalk closures and pedestrian detours will be in place. Vehicle traffic will remain open for all directions of travel.
• Repaving work scheduled for the week of 9/21
  • Street closures will be in place with detours.  Access to Conser St. will remain open.
• Pavement marking work scheduled for Tues-Wed. 10/6-10/7.

Week of September 14th, 2026

Highland Dr. Construction

• Repaving work scheduled for the week of 9/21 (tentatively Mon. 9/21 and Tues. 9/22). Street closures will be in place with detours.

• Street dig-outs scheduled for Tues. 9/8 and Wed. 9/9.

• A final street closure is scheduled for Monday, 8/31 prior to the start of school for the pavement marking work. Temporary pavement markers will be in place after paving and up until that time.

• A final street closure is scheduled for Tuesday, 9/1 for the pavement marking work. Temporary pavement markers will be in place after paving and up until that time.

Grant Ave. Construction

• Sidewalk and curb ramp removal and reinstallation are continuing and will be focused on the north side of the street.
  • Sidewalk closures and pedestrian detours will be in place. Vehicle traffic will remain open for all directions of travel.
• Repaving work scheduled for the week of 9/21. Street closures will be in place with detours.

Walnut Blvd. Construction

• Construction starts Mon. 8/24.
  • Sidewalk and curb ramp removal and reinstallation will begin at Jack London St. and Conser St.
  • Sidewalk closures and pedestrian detours will be in place. Vehicle traffic will remain open for all directions of travel.
• Repaving work scheduled for the week of 9/21. Street closures will be in place with detours.  Access to Conser St. will remain open.

Week of August 17th, 2026

Highland Dr. Construction

• Highland Dr. will be closed from Grant to Cleveland the week of 8/17.  The work schedule is as follows:
  • Mon. 8/17 Grind existing street surface
  • Tues. 8/18 Hand work to remove existing pavement in select areas
  • Wed.-Fri. 8/19-8/21 Pave
• Vehicle traffic will remain open for local residents, mail, and garbage service to the greatest extent possible. If driveway access is affected, the contractor will notify residents in advance.  
• Detours will be in place for through traffic.
• A final street closure is scheduled for Tuesday, 9/2 for the pavement marking work. Temporary pavement markers will be in place after paving and up until that time.

Grant Ave. Construction

• Sidewalk and curb ramp removal and reinstallation are continuing and working west towards 31st St.
• Street dig-outs should be completed week of 8/10.
• Sidewalk closures and pedestrian detours will be in place. Vehicle traffic will remain open for all directions of travel, although there may be construction related delays (single lane closures with flagging).  

Week of August 3rd, 2026

Highland Dr. Construction

• Street dig outs and repairs along Highland between Grant and Cleveland in process. Intermittent street closures will be in place throughout the week.  
  • Local vehicle access for residents will be maintained.
  • If driveway access is affected, the Contractor will notify residents in advance.  
  • Garbage and mail services will be maintained.
• Southeast corner of Highland and Grant sidewalk and curb ramp reinstallation in process.
• Sidewalk and curb ramp installation at Highland & Hayes continues.
• Sidewalk closures and pedestrian detours will be in place. Vehicle traffic will remain open for local residents. Detours will be in place for through traffic.

• Sidewalk and curb ramp removal and reinstallation will continue between 30th and 31st.
• Sidewalk closures and pedestrian detours will be in place. Vehicle traffic will remain open for all directions of travel.

Week of July 27th, 2026

Highland Dr. Construction

• Southeast corner of Highland and Grant concrete demolition is complete. Storm pipe replacement in process, followed by sidewalk and curb ramp reinstallation.
• Sidewalk and curb ramp installation at Highland & Hayes continues.
• Sidewalk closures and pedestrian detours will be in place. Vehicle traffic will remain open for all directions of travel.

Grant Ave. Construction

• Sidewalk and curb ramp removal and reinstallation will continue between 30th and 31st. Sidewalk closures and pedestrian detours will be in place.
• Vehicle traffic will remain open for all directions of travel.

Week of July 20th, 2026

Highland Dr. Construction

• Sidewalk and curb ramp installation on the west side of Grant and Highland should be completed and demolition work will begin on the southeast corner.
• Sidewalk and curb ramp installation at Highland & Hayes continues.
• Sidewalk closures and pedestrian detours will be in place. Vehicle traffic will remain open for all directions of travel.

Grant Ave. Construction

• Sidewalk and curb ramp installation is starting between the 30th and 31st. Sidewalk closures and pedestrian detours will be in place.
• Vehicle traffic will remain open for all directions of travel.

Week of July 13th, 2026

Highland Dr. Construction

• Sawcutting of pavement in preparation for street dig outs at failed areas.
• Storm drainage improvements finishing up at the Highland and Grant intersection.
  • Concrete was encountered underneath the existing street surface and is being removed through mechanical hammering.  This work is about ¾ of the way complete – the SE corner of Highland and Grant remains.
• Sidewalk and curb ramp installation at Highland & Grant and Highland & Hayes in process.
• Sidewalk closures and pedestrian detours will be in place. Vehicle traffic will remain open for all directions of travel.

• Sidewalk and curb ramp removals are starting between the 30th and 31st. Sidewalk closures and pedestrian detours will be in place.

Week of July 6th, 2026

Highland Dr. Construction

• Storm drainage improvements are finishing up at the Highland and Grant intersection. Vehicle traffic will remain open for all directions of travel.
• Sidewalk and curb ramp removals are starting at Highland and Grant & Highland and Hayes. Sidewalk closures and pedestrian detours will be in place.

Grant Ave. Construction

• Sidewalk and curb ramp removals are starting between the 30th and 31st. Sidewalk closures and pedestrian detours will be in place.

Week of June 22nd, 2026 Highland Dr. and Grant Ave. Storm Construction

• Contractor will be mobilizing equipment and materials on site.
• Road closure on the south leg of the intersection on 10th St. between Grant Ave. and Beca Ave. Flaggers will be present to keep traffic moving through the remainder of the intersection.  Local access for residents will be maintained.  
• “No parking” signs will be placed to identify on-street parking areas where work will be taking place or equipment will be used. Please avoid parking in areas that are signed for “No Parking”.
