Residential Parking District Parking Permits

Residential Parking Districts are areas where the City requires a permit to park during certain days and times. Proof of residence is required and permit limits per address apply. The permit year is fixed (September 1 to August 31) and no prorating is offered for permits purchased part way through the year nor refunds given for unused portions (such as when moving out of a district). To learn more and view the locations and boundaries of these districts in Corvallis, please visit the Residential Parking Districts page.

10-Hour Meter Parking Permits

10-Hour parking meters are located throughout downtown Corvallis and can be identified by a cap that is painted yellow. Instead of paying at the meter, you can purchase a permit for parking at these spaces for the entire 10-hour duration payment at the meter would otherwise be required for. Purchase of this permit type does not guarantee the availability of any particular 10-hour meter parking space and is not valid in any other type of metered space, permit lot, or parking district.

Yellow Lot Parking Permit

The Yellow Lot is located on the west side of downtown Corvallis, west of 5th Street, between Corvallis City Hall and the Downtown Transit Center. Permits are required to park in the Yellow Lot between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Spaces are not assigned to a particular permit.

Purple Lot Parking Permit

The Purple Lot is comprised of a portion of parking spaces (observe posted signs) within the larger parking lot at 2nd Street and B Avenue. Vehicles can be parked for up to 30 days in the Purple Lot without being moved. Purple Lot permits are required 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In the permit portion of this lot, spaces are not assigned to a particular permit.

Both Yellow Lot and Purple Lot parking permits are sold on fixed calendar quarters starting on January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1. No prorating is offered for permits purchased part way through the quarter nor refunds given for unused portions (such as when no longer needing a permit).

When parking spaces in the Yellow Lot and Purple Lot are sold out, you can be added to a waitlist that is on a first-come/first-served basis. When a parking space becomes available in a lot, the next person on the list for that lot will be contacted for the opportunity to purchase a parking permit.

If the parking lot for which you have a current parking permit is full, contact Parking Enforcement and let them know where you are parked and a description of your vehicle. Parking Enforcement will check the lot to confirm it is full and make note of your vehicle location so you do not receive a parking ticket.

Courtesy Parking Permit

This type of parking permit is issued by the City at no cost for limited purposes, locations, and durations per the Municipal Code. Please review the PDF application to see if you may be eligible and contact parkingpermits@corvallisoregon.gov before completing.

Parkway Parking Permit

If their vehicle will fit fully within the parkway portion of their driveway, residents can apply for a Parkway Parking Permit to legally park in that portion of their driveway. A permit is required to comply with the Municipal Code.

Please note any vehicle that does not fit fully within the parkway or creates a vision obstruction, such as tall vans or box trucks, is not eligible for this permit type and may be subject to parking violations if parked in the parkway without a valid permit.

  • The parkway must be hard surfaced.
  • No portion of the parked vehicle may extend outside the vertical plane created by the edges of the sidewalk and the edge of the street curb.
  • The parked vehicle must not create a vision clearance obstruction.
  • An issued permit will be for a specific abutting residence and is not transferable to another location.
  • Check the Parkway Parking Measurement Guides for exact measurements and details.

Please review the PDF application to see if you may be eligible and contact parkingpermits@corvallisoregon.gov before completing.

Yellow Curb Painting Permit

In the City of Corvallis, yellow-painted curbs indicate no-parking zones. Yellow curbs are used at approaches to stop signs and intersections, some transit stops, and at bike lane transition areas. Yellow curbs may also be used on either side of driveway approaches to maintain sight lines.

Parking in front of driveways is prohibited under the Oregon Vehicle Code. If you have an ongoing problem with vehicles blocking your driveway or obstructing your street visibility, you may request a required Yellow Curb permit to paint two feet of yellow curb on either side of the driveway approaches. If approved, you must complete this work yourself. The City does not paint or maintain yellow painted curb at driveways. Contact parkingpermits@corvallisoregon.gov for more information.
