Water Conservation Tips

What is Water Conservation?

  • Water conservation is using water efficiently, to reduce water waste.

Why is Water Conservation Important?

  • Water conservation is super important because worldwide, there is a limited amount of freshwater available. Less than 1% of earth's water can be used by humans. On a more local scale, available freshwater can change depending on the time of year and weather patterns. In particular, in the summer people tend to use more water. When people, wildlife and plants are all using the same water, it can run low, or suffer reduced quality. As communities grow, the amount of available water may remain the same. Water conservation is important so that current and future generations will have access to the water that they need. Plus, reducing your water consumption could potentially help you save money on water and energy bills.
