Bike Parking
Bike racks and on-street corrals are located throughout the community to facilitate the use of bicycles as a viable mode of transportation. The Land Development Code requires all new businesses, apartment buildings, schools, offices, etc., to install bike racks in proportion to the motor vehicle parking spaces required for the development. In addition, 50% of the bicycle parking spaces must be covered.
The city has also constructed covered parking structures on the riverfront, various locations throughout the downtown and Monroe Street.

Portable Bike Rack Loan Program
The City’s portable bike rack loan program provides bike racks to organizations within Corvallis, free of charge. The racks are great for large events – like Fall Festival, SAGE Concert Series, and Septembeerfest – that want to encourage bicycling to the event and need extra bike parking capacity.
Located at Public Works, there are 18 portable bike racks available. Each rack measures 10 feet long and 44 inches wide, with space for at least 14 bikes (7 on each side). In addition to the racks, there are three bicycle trailers and three base racks.

Where are the bike racks located?
The bike racks are located on the north side of the Public Works compound, at 1245 NE 3rd St.
When can I pickup/return the racks?
The Public Works compound is open Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Borrowers can pick up and return racks only during open hours.
How do I transport the racks by bike?
Step 1: Place one of the base racks with a coupler onto the bike trailer, making sure that the rack is centered. Stack up to 3 additional racks (without couplers) on top.
Step 2: Affix the hitch to a rear bike rack. The Corvallis Sustainability Coalition’s Transportation Action Team can provide hitches upon request.
Step 3: Attach the coupler to the hitch.
What are the dimensions of the racks?
Length: 10’, Width: 44”, Height: 36”
A minimum of 4 feet of space between the racks is recommended for comfortable maneuvering of bicycles.
What do I do if the equipment needs maintenance?
If the bike trailer(s) need emergency maintenance, the City has an agreement with Bike N Hike and Corvallis Cyclery. You may take the trailer(s) to either of these locations and have the work performed and billed to Josh Capps at the City of Corvallis. Please notify Josh Capps at 541-766-6916 or josh.capps@corvallisoregon.gov of the situation that occurred and that maintenance was needed. The City is unable to do personal reimbursements.
