Benton County Sex Offender Compliance Sweep

 

On July 23, 2026, members of the Corvallis Police Department, Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Albany Police Department, Oregon State Police, Benton County Parole and Probation, and the United States Marshal Service participated in a multi-agency sex offender compliance sweep in Benton County. 

 

The mission of the sweep was to conduct compliance checks to ensure offenders are complying with the condition of their registration requirements, target non-compliant offenders who missed one or more reporting requirements, conduct compliance checks on higher risk offenders, and educate offenders on state laws pertaining to reporting intended international travel.

 

The following were the results of the operation:

 

  • 248 compliance checks were conducted on registered offenders.
  • Eight arrests/citations charges for ORS 163A.040 – Failure to Report as Sex Offender.
  • Four arrests on unrelated warrants.
  • Fifteen warnings for registration requirements.
  • Nine offenders registered post law enforcement contact.
  • Identified 20 offenders who were not residing at their reported residence.
