"Need to Know" Laws in Corvallis

The Corvallis Police Department has compiled a number of need-to-know ordinances for residents and visitors. These ordinances are enforced by the Corvallis Police Department.

This is not an all-encompassing list of City ordinances. Community members are encouraged to review the complete Corvallis Municipal Code and the Livability Code for additional information.

Violent Conduct (5.03.080.020)

No person shall intentionally cause public inconvenience, annoyance, or alarm, or recklessly create a risk thereof, by engaging in fighting or behaving in a violent, tumultuous, or threatening manner. (Class B Misdemeanor).

Human Waste (5.03.080.040)

No person shall deposit or discharge any human waste on property open to or visible by the public. (Class A Infraction).

Loud Noise (5.03.030)

No person shall make, assist in making, continue, or cause to be made any unreasonably loud, disturbing, or unnecessary noise.

Unlawful Amplified Sound (5.03.030.020.10)

Amplified sound (stereo, instruments, mega phone, etc) must not be plainly audible from greater than 50 feet or within another residence.

Open Container of Alcohol in Public (5.03.040.010.06)

No person shall drink or consume any alcoholic liquor, or possess any open container of alcoholic liquor while in or upon any street, alley, public grounds, building, or place open and available to the general public. (Class C Misdemeanor)

Hosting a Party for Minors (5.03.040.010.10 / 5.03.040.020.07)

No person shall permit, allow or host a juvenile party at their place of residence or premises under their control while alcoholic liquor or marijuana is consumed or possessed by a minor. (Class A Misdemeanor)
