Toilet Rebates
Looking to replace an old or broken toilet? Need an incentive? Replace old toilets with WaterSense toilets (https://www.epa.gov/watersense/residential-toilets) and qualify for a rebate!
Toilets account for more than 30% of a home's indoor water use. Make the smart choice and replace your toilets with a more modern and efficient model. The EPA WaterSense program certifies toilets that meet rigorous testing. Look for the WaterSense logo!
Older toilets may use up to 6 gallons per flush, while WaterSense High Efficiency Toilets (HET) use no more than 1.28 gallons per flush, while still providing equal or superior performance. HETs save more than 60% versus older toilets, and use 20% less water than the current federal standard of 1.6 gallons per flush. For a family of four, installation of HETs could mean water savings of more than 50 gallons per day or 20,000 gallons a year.
The Rebate Process:
The City of Corvallis will offer a one-time rebate of up to $75 for one HET toilet per customer, installation address, or utility account. Toilet being replaced must be old and inefficient to qualify - "old" is any toilet from 2015 or earlier, and "inefficient" is any toilet with a 1.6 or greater gallons per flush; replacing a toilet that is already highly efficient (1.28 gallons per flush) or installed after 2015 does NOT qualify for this program.
- Purchase eligible toilet/s (WaterSense Product Search (epa.gov) ) and install at your residence.
- Completely fill out rebate application here ( rebate application. )
- Fill out a short questionnaire about this program as a part of the application: questionnaire link here.
- Include proof of purchase in the form of a sales receipt or purchase invoice. This must clearly state the model number of the toilet in order to be eligible.
- Send completed application and proof of purchase to Corvallis Public Works. You can mail a paper copy or email a scan/pdf to the email address on the application. (Emailed application preferred!) Application must be received within three months of purchase. Please allow four to six weeks for your rebate check to arrive.
Additional Program Details:
- Qualifying toilets: WaterSense Product Search (epa.gov) . Only toilets on this list will be approved for a rebate. For more info on how individual toilets perform, visit the Maximum Performance Testing (MaP) website.
- Toilet being replaced must have been installed prior to 2015, or not as efficient as the current Oregon standard of 1.28 GPF (AKA 1.6 GPF or higher are eligible to be replaced with a more efficient version). The purpose of this program is to incentivize upgrading an old, inefficient toilet to a higher efficiency toilet. Almost all toilets sold after 2015 are high efficiency.
- Applicant must install the toilet in a residence that receives water or wastewater service from the City of Corvallis and has a valid residential account number in good standing.
- It is your responsibility to assure that the model you purchase qualifies for a rebate. No rebates will be authorized for non-qualifying models. It is also your responsibility to assure that all application materials are completed and submitted within the three month qualification period. No rebates will be authorized for applications that are incomplete, or not received within the three month qualification period.
- This program is one-time only; no more than one rebate application will be approved per customer, installation address, or utility account.
- Rebate amount can not exceed 50% of the cost of toilet.
