Construction/Operational Projects

This page lists current construction or other projects occurring in the forest that may impact operations.

Current:

  • Rock Creek Pipeline Replacement: Current as of December, 2025. The main pipeline connecting Griffith Creek to Rock Creek Treatment Plant is being replaced due to age. There is construction activity along the main Rock Creek road, and the road leading up to Griffith Creek. Best Management Practices (BMPs) designed to reduce erosion and other negative impacts, and to protect roadside plants, have been developed in conjunction with experienced contractors and put into place alongside the road and staging areas. This project should be completed in 2026.
  • Fiber Optic Cable Extension: Fiber optic cables were extended to the operator's residences and Rock Creek Treatment Plant. This project should be completed in 2026.

Completed 2025:

  • Griffith Creek Meter Replacement: The Griffith Creek meter was replaced with a higher tech, more accurate meter. This gives operators better control over how much water is taken from Griffith Creek, and gives automated updates to the water treatment computer system. This is a big improvement to water treatment infrastructure in the forest. This project was completed in late 2025.
