Bike Month is back! 

 

Nationally celebrated since 1956, and embraced in Corvallis for decades, this event has continually been the unofficial beginning of peak biking season since inception. 

Each year during May, we are encouraging people to get out and ride for fun and exercise, as well as for errands and trips.

OSU Spring Bike Challenge: 5/1 - 5/31
Oregon State University's Spring Bike Challenge runs from May 1-31. All biking skill levels are welcome! Form a team of friends, co-workers or classmates and ride your bikes to win. Open to anyone with a bike and an OSU ID who rides on the OSU Corvallis campus.\

National Bike & Roll to School Day: 5/7, 7:15 – 7:55 am
Bessie Coleman Elementary School, 3838 NW Walnut Blvd
Bike & Roll to School Day invites participants to celebrate the joys of active commuting while building a sense of community, safety, and school spirit.

SAFE Corvallis Bike Happy Hour: 5/8, 4 – 6 pm
Laughing Planet, 127 NW 2nd St
Join SAFE Corvallis for a Bike Happy Hour, celebrating cycling and community.

Team Dirt Trail Work - OSU/Starker Forest: 5/9, 10 am – 1 pm
Oak Creek Trailhead, 8600 NW Oak Creek Dr.
Come out and help us improve trail systems in Oregon State University College of Forestry McDonald Forest and Starker Forests' Alder Creek Tree Farm.

Corvallis Bike Collective is returning to the Whiteside Theater with an all new Filmed By Bike! Join us for the film showing and a social hour to bring together local cyclists for a night of building community and sharing our passion for all things bike!

National Bike To Work Week: 5/11 – 5/15
Celebrate Bike Month by riding your bike to work this week.

Team Dirt Mountain Bike Thursdays: 5/14, 6:30 – 8:00 pm
Common Fields, 545 SW 3rd St
Join us for pints and stoke on the 2nd Thursday of the month. Come hang out with like-minded riders and start planning your next adventure.

National Bike to Work Day: 5/15
National Bike to Work Day is celebrated on the third Friday of May each year.

Mid-Valley Bicycle Club Midge Cramer Ride: 5/16, 10 am
Osborn Aquatic Center, 1940 NW Highland Dr
This ride celebrates the life and legacy of Richard P. "Midge" Cramer (1931-1997), one of the founders of the Mid-Valley Bicycle Club. The ride has been held annually since 2001 and features traditions and stories associated with Midge 

Corvallis Spring Roll: 5/17, 10 am – 2 pm
Cloverland Park, 1605 NW 29th St
A community bike and trike ride and cycle fair just for kids. It is a fun place for kids to experience the thrill of riding independently in a safe and exciting environment. This is not a race; instead the event rewards participation and effort.

Bike In & Set Off a “Chain” Reaction: 5/19, 5 – 7 pm
Southtown Farmstand & Market, 1361 SE Alexander Ave
Bike to the Southtown Market and set off a Chain Reaction of smiles! Every rider gets a free signature mocktail and a Southtown Market glass mug — just show up on two wheels and let the good times roll. Decorate your bike for a surprise treat!

Ride of Silence: 5/20, gather at 6:30 pm, depart at 7 pm
Osborn Aquatic Center, 1940 NW Highland Dr
This annual ride honors those who have been injured or killed, raises community awareness of people who ride bikes, and asks that all share the road. It's one of hundreds held worldwide.
