Evening Street Sweeping in January

Street sweeper parked on the side of the road

January 16, 2026 - Limited street sweeping will resume later this month, after unanticipated mechanical malfunctions took the City's two street sweepers out of operation in early December 2025.

In the coming weeks, Public Works staff will be performing limited sweeping in the evening hours to minimize debris buildup on our streets and near storm drains. We understand this may cause some noise outside of typical working hours for these areas. Thank you for your understanding while we tackle the backlog and return to our normal sweeping schedules.

Seasonal leaf pickup by Republic Services has ended for the season, so leaves should not be placed on city streets. Leaves and other debris piled in the street will not be picked up and may create street flooding by clogging storm drains. You can help reduce local street flooding by keeping catch basin grates free of leaves and debris. If a catch basin in your neighborhood is covered by leaves, take a moment to rake the leaves away from the grate. You should only do this if you feel like you can do it safely. For other flooding and street drainage issues, you can let us know via Corvallis Connect.
