Neighborhood Bikeway - Southeast Corvallis (North)
View this project in the Capital Improvement Program document here.
This project will implement a Neighborhood Bikeway in southeast Corvallis between SE Crystal Lake Drive and SE Goodnight Avenue as part of the larger Neighborhood Bikeway project (B47) that continues on to terminate at SE Shoreline Drive. The enhancement is identified as a High Priority Project (Project B47) in the City's Transportation System Plan and includes bicycle guide signage, pavement markings, speed humps, and other treatments designed to provide a safe and comfortable street for bicyclists and pedestrians.
City staff will be working with a consultant to identify treatments for safer crossings of major streets along the corridor.
Will there be an off-street path connection between Crystal Lake Drive and the neighborhood as part of this project and if so, what is the anticipated timeline for this?
The Neighborhood Bikeway project includes further investigation and – pending successful completion of key items such as environmental assessment, design, agreement with the landowner, and budget availability – construction of a shared use path connecting users of the Eric E. Austin Path, at Crystal Lake Drive, to Chester Avenue through the private, undeveloped lot between the two streets. Due to these key items needing to be completed, the exact timeline is currently unknown and even if implemented, it may be done separately from the remainder of the project, at a later time. If the path cannot be built, the Neighborhood Bikeway would route along Crystal Lake Drive and enter and exit into the neighborhood at either SE Vera Avenue and/or SE Bethel Street.
