Getting Started
What do I need to get started?
In order to view and / or purchase digital permits, you will first need to create an account. You will need to sign up with an email address. **Please note, permits may have specific eligibility or use criteria and application may require submitting documents for verification purposes.
How do I create an online permit account?
- Upon navigating to the permit portal, from the landing page, click on Sign Up or Login.
- On the next screen, below the login fields, click on Sign Up, then provide a valid email address and create a password that will be used to login.
- After clicking on Sign Up, check your email for a verification email and follow the prompts to verify your account.
- Once you have clicked the link from your email, you will be able to login from the portal's login page.
Where can I locate available permits online?
Once logged in:
- Upon login, you will be able to select from a dropdown the various types of permits available through the online portal. Once you have selected the correct permit type from your dropdown, click on Start New Permit Application to continue.
- If the permit type you have selected requires an address eligibility check, you must also enter your address and click Start Applying before continuing to see which permits you are eligible for.
- If the permit type you have selected does not require an address eligibility check, you will be able to read a description of the permit type and click on Start Applying to continue the process.
Where can I learn more about different parking and permit options?
- Please visit www.corvallisoregon.gov/parking or contact the City (parkingpermits@corvallisoregon.gov or 541-766-6916) for more information, including about permit types not currently available through this portal.
Can I save a permit application and finish it at a later date?
- You are able to save and exit any permit application so that you can come back to it at a later date/time.
- To resume an application that had been previously started, you may choose to Resume the specific application from your Permits Dashboard.
How do I add or link a permit to my online account that I purchased in-person and/or before I created an account?
- If you purchased your permit in-person, you can manage it online by first creating an account as described further above.
- Once you have an account, you can link this permit to your account by clicking the Link a Permit tab on the main landing page in the portal and entering the link code provided on your receipt.
- If you do not have a receipt or link code, please contact the City (parkingpermits@corvallisoregon.gov or 541-766-6916) for assistance.
Digital vs Physical Permits
How does enforcement know I hold an active permit?
Your permit provider may continue to issue a physical permit. No matter the case, your permit is now a digital record which is shared in real time to parking enforcement personnel through their wireless handheld devices. Your license plate number is the indicator to the officer that you are a valid permit holder and not in violation.
What if I want to drive/park another car than I usually do?
It is the responsibility of the permit holder to provide and keep up to date license plate information in their online account. Some permit types only allow one license plate in the account at a time and any changes must be requested by the permit holder (to learn how to do this, see below under Accounts) and reviewed and approved by the City. Allow plenty of time for review of requested changes. Don’t assume you can request a change and drive/park a different vehicle the same or even next day.
Other permit types may allow multiple vehicles in the account but with only one allowed to be parked at any time. This will be stated in the permit details. Even in the case of multiple vehicle permits, changes must still be requested by the permit holder and reviewed and approved by the City.
Accounts
How do I change/update the phone number or email address on my account?
You will need to create a new account in order to change/update the login method. To create a new account, please click the Logout Tab and then click Sign-Up and enter a new phone number or email address. If your old account holds any active permits, you will need to contact the City (parkingpermits@corvallisoregon.gov or 541-766-6916) to have your permits transferred to the new account.
How do I update the License Plate and/or vehicle information associated with my Permit?
- Depending on the rules of your permit, you may be able to edit or add license plates/vehicles to your permit.
- If you are allowed to manage vehicles on your permit, you can login to your online account and click on Manage for the permit you'd like to view the details of.
- To make those updates click Permit Holder and Vehicle Information and then click Edit.
- Update the applicable fields and then continue through the process to submit to the City for review.
- Note, that even if there is no charge for the requested change, you will still be prompted to enter payment information. However, if a cost of $0.00 is shown when “checking out”, you will not be charged.
- Please allow plenty of time for requested changes that you submit to be reviewed and approved by the City. Don’t assume you can request a change and drive/park a different vehicle the same or even next day.
Payment
How do I add/delete a payment card?
- Once you are logged into your Account, select the Payment Tab. Select 'Add Card', then enter and save your new card information. To delete a card, choose the card you wish to remove, then tap 'Delete Card'. You cannot edit an existing card, you would need to delete it and add a new one.
Can I pay for other people's permits?
- Yes. To do so, you can follow the same prompts listed above for locating the available permit types and provide any relevant information during the permit application.
How do I renew an existing permit online?
- Some, but not all, permit types allow for auto-renewal for payment. You are not automatically enrolled and must opt-in to this.
- To do so, select your permit in the portal and click Manage.
- Next click Auto-Renew (will only appear if your permit type is eligible), then click Enroll and follow the prompts to complete enrollment.
- You will be required to enter credit card information (ACH/bank account draft not available) but have the option to edit your card information and stop auto-renew at any time
Troubleshooting
Why can't I see my Permit when I log into my account?
- Please check your login method. In order to access your existing account, you MUST log in using the same email address that was used when creating your account.
- If you forgot which email was used, you may be able to reach out to the Parking Department who can assist in finding the email used to login for your account.
I keep having issues and receiving popup messages such as “Network Error”, “Permit details could not be retrieved at this time”, “An error occurred when retrieving permit details. Please try again.”, or “An error occurred when cancelling your application. Please try again.” (just some examples). What should I do?
- Many of these errors are resolved on their own after logging out of the portal and logging back in. You may also try clearing your browser cache or logging in from a different browser type, if available.
- However, if they do not resolve after trying the above steps, the City is unable to provide tech support for this portal and therefore recommends visiting us in person (permits are not processed via email or over the phone, for security purposes) during business hours and days.
