Planning Process (FAP)

To get a comprehensive understanding about the Planning Process for activities in Corvallis Forest, please read the Corvallis Forest Stewardship Plan (CFSP) and associated documents.

The Planning Policy is as follows: "Stewardship plans, action plans, and operational plans will be developed, updated and implemented following City of Corvallis’ public engagement methods. Planning will occur at different temporal scales and consistent with the Vision and Guiding Principles of the Corvallis Forest. Implementation will take an adaptive management approach, allowing responsiveness to changing conditions and new information."

What is a Forest Action Plan (FAP)?

A Forest Action Plan (FAP) identifies management opportunities and needs on the Corvallis Forest for a period of two years or less to align with municipal budgeting. FAPs contain a moderate level of detail with the expectation that further detail will be required for implementation of most activities. They are developed approximately every 2 years.

FY 24/25 FOP

This Forest Operational Plan was presented at the 4/23/2025 CFOAC meeting. (Note: the terminology around FAP and FOP was updated with the 2026 CFSP update, which is why this older plan is a "FOP" and newer plans will be "FAP"s. See above description for definition).

FY 2023-2026 FAP  The FY 2023-2026 Forest Action Plan (FAP) is intended to identify management opportunities and needs on the Corvallis Forest for the three fiscal years, 23/24 through 25/26.  The FAP has recommended management actions that align with goals and objectives of the Corvallis Forest Stewardship Plan (CFSP) policies and standards, and guidelines contained within.
