Monitoring

The City does a variety of monitoring in Corvallis Forest. Please see the Corvallis Forest Stewardship Plan for more details on why the City monitors, and what is monitored. You can also refer to the Annual Reporting tab for things the City reports on regularly, including the Forst Acitvity Reports. Monitoring specific reports are included below. 

Monitoring Policy: Monitoring will be conducted to assess the impacts of policies and management actions and their effects on water quality and quantity; aquatic and terrestrial habitat; and climate benefits.

Follow the below links to see reports associated with various monitoring projects in the forest:

  • Forest InventoriesReports prepared by Trout Mountain Forestry about the type and age of trees in the forest. These inventories are provided as a guide for City staff to help plan long-term sustainability of the Corvallis Forest.
  • Peacock Larkspur (Delphinium pavonaceum) - Monitored and reported on as part of the Benton County Habitat Conservation Plan. 
  • Stream Temperature - Stream temperature is monitored throughout the watershed. 
  • Wildlife Surveys - Including Marbled Murrelets, Spotted Owls, songbirds, and fish snorkel surveys that have occurred over the years.
