Accessible Parking
Valid ADA parking permits issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) allow parking in any designated ADA parking space free of charge, however, the following restrictions apply:
- ADA parking permits are not valid in spaces 30 minutes or less. Disabled permit holders parking in 30 minute or less spaces must pay the parking fee for that parking space and are limited to the posted time.
- ADA parking permits are not valid where stopping, standing, or parking of vehicles is prohibited.
- ADA parking permits are not valid where parking is reserved for special types of vehicles or activities.
Per DMV regulations, permits are to be displayed from the rearview mirror. If they are displayed in any other manner, they may be missed and may be subject to a citation. They carry an expiration date. If the permit is not valid on the date shown, or the date is not being displayed, the vehicle may be cited for a permit violation. Each type of permit may have different parking restriction. Regulations that apply to your permit type are available in the Oregon State Motor Vehicle Code.
The Downtown Parking Map shows the location of all the accessible parking spaces downtown, including van-accessible spaces.
