Parkway Parking

Parkway Permits
Residents can apply for a permit to legally park in the parkway portion of their driveway, if their vehicle will fit fully within the parkway.  Check the Parkway Parking Measurement Guides (pdf) for exact measurements and details.

How to apply for a permit
If you wish to apply for an inspection and permit, print a Parkway Permit Application (pdf), complete and bring with the $25.00 one-time, non-refundable, non-transferable fee to Corvallis Public Works, located at 1245 NE 3rd Street. Applications may also be obtained from Corvallis Public Works. Questions may be directed to the main counter at Public Works or by calling 541-766-6916. The City will conduct an inspection within 14 days of receiving the application to ensure the vehicle fits within the parkway area and will not create a vision obstruction.

Permit Costs
$25.00 one-time, revocable permit, non-refundable, non-transferable.

Conditions for issuing a permit

  • The driveway/ parkway must be hard surfaced.
  •  The parkway must be of sufficient depth such that no portion of the parked vehicle falls outside the vertical plane created by the edges of the sidewalk and the edge of the street curb.
  • The parked vehicle must not create a vision clearance obstruction.
  • An issued permit will be for a specific abutting residence, and is not transferable to another location. It may be transferred to another vehicle used by the resident of the location, if that vehicle is also inspected by the City to ensure it fits within the parkway area.

How to Display Permits
The hanging permit must hang from the vehicle's rear view mirror so that it is clearly visible through the rear window while parked. Vehicles with permits that are not displayed correctly or cannot be seen due to tinted windows may be ticketed as per Municipal Code 6.10.040.040

Replacement Permits and Refunds
A replacement permit will not be issued if it is lost or stolen. An application for a new permit must be submitted. If the abutting property changes hands, the permit will not be transferable to the new owner.
