Panel Discussion on Rent Burden in Corvallis

Why is Corvallis among the highest rent burdened communities in Oregon? Households that spend more than 50% of their total income on rent are considered to have "severe rent burden". Approximately 37% of Corvallis households carry severe rent burden. The Oregon State Legislature passed HB4006 requiring cities with greater than 25% of severely rent burdened households to hold a public meeting on this topic. The Advocate, in partnership with the City of Corvallis, hosted a facilitated panel discussion on November 7 beginning at 6:30p at the Public Library.  Materials and feedback from the 2019 event are available here.
