Neighborhood Surveys to Inform & Engage - March 9 @ 6:30 - 7:30p @ online - Blair Girard, West Hills Neighborhood Association & Rebecka Weinsteiger, Living Southtown will discuss how they have used surveys to gather data that can inform decisions and discussions, and engage neighbors in topics of common interest. Blair will provide an example of a general survey to capture input on a wide range of topics while Rebecka will speak to the use of a survey to go deep on a sensitive topic. Register here.
OR99W South Corvallis Facility Plan Events this Week - March 10 @ 10a - 11:30a @ online - Highway 99W in South Corvallis is the focus of a new planning effort that will determine how best to improve safety and mobility along this corridor. The Facility Plan is led by Oregon Department of Transportation in close collaboration with the City of Corvallis. This week's events include:

Area Planning - When, How, & Why - March 11 @ 6:30 - 7:30p @ online - Community Development Director Paul Bilotta will provide a broad overview about area planning, including what an area plan is and how an area plan influences the development and land uses in a specific area over time. Fire Aware | Fire Prepared Online Program - Starts March 17 - The Skyline West Neighborhood Association encourages other neighborhoods to join them in the Fire Aware Fire Prepared Program offered by the OSU Extension Fire Program. The program offers a series of webinar sessions to help individuals and neighbors prepare and mitigate the impacts of wildfires. The first webinar is March 17 at noon and continues on alternating Wednesdays through June 16th. Learn more | Register for March 17.
SWNA's Safety Committee and Firewise team are working with Dave Busby, Corvallis Emergency Manager, to plan a second evacuation exercise on June 19th. Stay tuned!

Parks & Recreation Master Planning - March 17 @ 6:30 - 7:30p @ online - Parks & Recreation Director Meredith Petit and Parks Planner Jackie Rochefort will provide a broad overview of the Parks & Recreation Master Plan, explain how the plan is created and modified, and the way the plan influences the creation and maintenance of our neighborhood parks and recreation areas. Joint Ward Meeting for Wards 6 & 9 - March 23 @ 6:30p @ online - Save the date! Councilors Chaplen & Struthers invite those living in Wards 6 & 9 to a joint meeting. West Hills Neighborhood Hosts Community Presentations - March 31 @ 5:30 - 6:45p @ online - WHNA members will provide updates to their neighborhood about the various community boards and efforts in which they are involved. Presentations with include the Friends of Corvallis Parks & Recreation, the Garden Share Initiative, and Home, Opportunity, Planning, and Equity (HOPE) Board. Virtual Emergency Preparedness Presentations for Children - The virtual Pillowcase Project is a free interactive preparedness program designed for children in grades 3 through 5. The program aims to increase awareness and understanding of natural hazards, teach safety and emotional coping skills, as well as the importance of personal preparedness. Learn more.
