Nothing brings neighbors together quicker than a common interest and a will to solve a problem, meet a need or have some fun. The links below provide project ideas to help your neighborhood gather and make a positive change for our community.
Empowerment Grants help individuals and organizations work together to accomplish common goals that support the overall health, vitality and inclusivity of the place they call "home." The City of Corvallis offers these grants to applicants who can demonstrate support through cash, in-kind donation, and volunteer hours.
2026 Grant CycleApplications are closed for the 2026 Empowerment Grant. Applications will be reviewed in April and May 2026, with funding awarded in June.
A neighborhood block party is an event organized by residents of a neighborhood to promote involvement, relationship building, and community safety. A few good reasons to have a neighborhood block party include:
The Corvallis Neighborhood Tree Stewards Program is a collaborative effort between dedicated local volunteers, neighborhood associations, CBUF, and the City of Corvallis. Its mission is to identify, acknowledge and collaborate with community members to increase public engagement in tree planting and tree care in Corvallis. This is accomplished through year round engagement with local partners to involve the community in tree planting and tree care activities and education.

The City’s Adopt-A-Path program provides community members the opportunity to help keep our shared-use paths beautiful by picking up litter and trimming vegetation. Keeping our shared use paths clean and safe is largely done by the city’s Parks and Recreation and Public Works Departments, but the assistance of businesses, families, and community groups through this program is key.

What is Neighborhood Watch?
ATCs are comfortable, “people only” paths that connect streets to parks, schools and other streets, shortening trips for people traveling by active travel modes.
The Streamside Plant Grant is available to Corvallis residents committed to protecting local streams and enhancing water quality.
Stream Stewardship
The Stream Stewards program is a volunteer program aimed at encouraging Corvallis citizens care for local streams. Each volunteer is asked to make a year-long team commitment to a stretch of a stream located within the City of Corvallis. As a volunteer, you may choose to join a Stream Team or create your own team.
